Design Is NOT Art!

Hot take/unpopular opinion: Design is not art. Art is subjective and design, by definition, should solve a problem and have a specific purpose or intent. In fact, design has very little to do with aesthetics.

So when someone says, “Make this pretty” a designer's response should be “I’m sorry, I don’t do that; but tell me what you want to accomplish with this piece and I'll make that happen”
